Hands of Ahava has partnered with Phoneraiser to recycle old cell phones to raise money for our organization.
How does it work?
Based on the make and model of each phone a donation is made to Hands of Ahava to help end domestic violence and sexual assault.

There are many benefits to donating your unwanted cell phone to Hands of Ahava including:
- Phones will not end up in landfills.
- Phones will either be reprogrammed for use by domestic violence and sexual assault victims as 911 emergency phones or recycled for donation.
- It’s a wonderful way to support Hands of Ahava work to provide assistance and community education about domestic violence and sexual assault for Los Angeles, greater Los Angeles, and Orange County.
- Tax deductible donation
Did you know…
- Each cell phone contains at least eight toxic elements.
- One cell phone can contaminate 35,000 gallons of water, if it gets into the landfill – that’s enough water for 153 people for one year.
- In the U.S. we have already retired over 500 million cell phones.
- Each month, an additional 10 million cell phones are retired.
- In 2010, Phoneraiser Partners will save 4,620,000,000 gallons of water from being contaminated, by recycling cell phones with us.
- In the U.S., we currently recycle about 28% of our waste.
